As Head of Data Science, you’ll be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and technical roadmap for all data science initiatives. You’ll lead the design of models, analytics platforms, and AI-driven insights that directly influence investment decisions across diverse asset classes. This role blends leadership with hands-on delivery, requiring both strategic thinking and technical depth.

Description
* Establish and scale a new Data Science function, defining tools, frameworks, and best practices from scratch.
* Build predictive and prescriptive models to support investment decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and risk management.
* Design and implement data acquisition, cleansing, and enrichment pipelines for internal and external financial datasets.
* Work closely with investment teams to translate business objectives into analytical and AI/ML solutions.
* Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers.
* Ensure all models and analytics meet rigorous governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
* Stay ahead of emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation in the investment analytics space.

Requirements:
* Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
* 12 years combined experience, with at least 7 years of experience in Data Science roles, including leadership in building or scaling teams.
* Proven track record in developing investment analytics, financial modelling, or quantitative research solutions.
* Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, and familiarity with relevant ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data tools.
* Strong business acumen in financial services, asset management, or investment strategy.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
