Trading Associate Director – FX (MENAT)

The Role
We’re currently seeking an ambitious Senior FX Trader to join our Global Banking and Markets team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
In this role you will:
Provide day-to-day support on FX activities and platforms
Support the local FX market making activities in the MENA region
Trading MENA FX products to generate revenue as per annual objectives
Risk Management of the business activities within the mandated limits
Provide consistent and accurate pricing service to sales force and clients
Execute firm and customers’ trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and contribute to the formulation of trading strategies (where applicable)
Adhere to local regulatory policies and trading venue rules applicable to the job holder location and the balance sheet location the trader is mandated
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the product area including but not limited to market liquidity and volatility, pricing and trading strategies
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, industry, clients within the framework of existing regulation
Cement firm relationships with relevant members of the various teams in Trading, Sales, Risk Management, BSM, Product Control, Finance etc. both in Dubai and in the various sites.
Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
Act on unusual/ unacceptable activity or behaviors and escalate appropriately
Contribute / drive front -office Trading and information systems development to improve controls and reduce number of cancelled and amended deals
Act as a key partner to Sales in supporting strategic client relationships across the region.
Work closely with EM Rates to deliver cross‑asset solutions and trade ideas, positioning Dubai as a true regional hub.
Champion robust controls, regulatory compliance and best practice in trade execution and booking.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Significant front‑office FX trading experience at a leading financial institution, ideally with EM or regional FX exposure.
Strong understanding of the interaction between FX and EM rates, and of regional market structure and liquidity.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with comfort engaging senior management and key clients.
A highly commercial, client‑focused mindset, combined with strong integrity and role‑model behaviour.
Graduation degree is a MUST to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
Under the New Labour Law, only fixed term contracts shall be available to all employees of HSBC UAE (except DIFC and ADGM employees) – hence in line with the term of work permit, a 4 years’ contract would be issued.
