Requirements
Candidates must hold a Three-Year Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience is required, including at least 4 years as an Assistant Chief Electrician.
Job Summary
* Allocate tasks to crew members and supervise activities to ensure that safe
operating procedures are followed
* Analyze and remedy issues/faults that are beyond the scope of Chief
Electrician subordinates
* Keep track of inventory and liaise with superiors for the procurement of
required spare parts, without undue overstocking
* Ensure that work areas are kept clean and safe working practices are employed
* Maintain appropriate records of work done and consumables used
* Prepare scope of maintenance/repair works required for dry-dock /
non-commissioned vessels, equipment and installations and work in close
coordination with superiors to monitor subcontracted work
* Compliance in accordance with section/Company policies & procedures, Policy
of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards
* Implement maintenance programs
* Review detailed daily, weekly and monthly work plans, allocate duties and
monitor performance to ensure deadlines are met and that completed work meets
set standards
* Train and mentor junior colleagues in job methodology to enable them to gain
an understanding how work is to be undertaken and to improve their
effectiveness

The Chief Electrician is responsible for planning and executing preventive maintenance and repairs for specialized vessel equipment like jacking and pipe laying systems. They supervise crew activities, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure all work complies with safety and HSE standards.
