Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and possess at least 8 years of experience in protection systems. Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment, communication protocols, and safety standards is required.

Job Summary

Job Summary:
The candidate should have a strong background in the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, with hands-on experience in High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear systems up to 33 kV. The candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment and protection systems, including CTs, VTs, various types of protection relays, ACBs, VCBs, protection schemes, VFDs, UPS systems, and power transformers. Candidates are expected to have good experience in the configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protection relays from various vendors. They should also possess a good understanding of communication protocols such as MODBUS/RTU, IEC 61850, and other relevant industrial communication systems, along with strong technical and troubleshooting skills to independently execute testing and commissioning activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Participate in daily FAT/SAT activities, including testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and protection system faults and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, relay setting files, and other technical documents.
Prepare and review MOS, FAT/SAT procedures, test forms, checklists, and related documentation.
Coordinate effectively with vendors, clients, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure the proper functioning and successful completion of operations.
Provide technical support, guidance, and expertise during testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
Review engineering documents, specifications, drawings, and technical submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Prepare, compile, and submit test reports, commissioning reports, and other technical documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
QHSE Responsibilities:
Comply with all QHSE standards, policies, and procedures relevant to your work.
Actively participate in QHSE meetings and complete all required safety inductions and trainings.
Identify and report unsafe conditions; take corrective action where possible within your scope.
Follow guidance provided by QHSE officers and use PPE and emergency equipment correctly.
Support a safe work environment by cooperating with safety practices and encouraging others to do the same.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

8 years proven experience in protection systems including design review.

The engineer will perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical protection systems and switchgear. They are also responsible for reviewing technical documentation, managing FAT/SAT activities, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure project compliance.
