Overview
The Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical is responsible for supporting the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of 132 kV and above AIS/GIS substations. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedule commitments while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
Your role
Assist in supervising construction and installation activities for 132 kV and above AIS/GIS substations.
Monitor the erection and installation of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, isolators, protection and control panels, SCADA systems, and associated equipment.
Review contractor work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.
Support testing and commissioning activities and witness site acceptance tests.
Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and quality of work.
Coordinate with contractors, client representatives, and project stakeholders to resolve site-related issues.
Verify compliance with HSE requirements and promote a safe working environment.
Prepare site inspection reports, progress reports, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
Assist in reviewing technical submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
Identify technical, construction, and interface issues and support their timely resolution.
About you
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in electrical substation projects.
Experience in 132 kV and above substations.
Exposure to AIS/GIS substations, construction supervision, and testing & commissioning activities.
Membership in relevant professional engineering bodies is an advantage.

Previous experience supporting Resident Engineers on large-scale transmission and substation infrastructure projects.
