Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Developing a comprehensive plan for student counselling and careers guidance spanning grade 9 to graduation in grade 12
Evaluating students’ abilities and interests through aptitude assessments, interviews, and individual planning
Implementing a school counseling program that promotes students’ success
Ensuring equitable access to opportunities and rigorous curriculum for all students
Identifying issues that affect school performance, such as poor classroom attendance rates
Helping students understand and overcome social or behavioural problems through classroom guidance lessons and counseling
Counseling individuals and small groups based on student and school needs
Working with students to develop skills, such as organizational and time management abilities and effective study habits
Helping students create a plan to achieve academic and career goals
Engaging parents in understanding graduation requirements through community events and one-to-one meetings
Preparing Lead schools in presenting curriculum information to the community to aid and develop understanding
Directing the creation of and edit for publication all guidance and graduation guides and materials prepared by and to be distributed among the instructional staff and parent community
Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to help students succeed
Presenting students with a range of options for college entry and / or career readiness by coordinating with local colleges and employers
Maintaining records as required
Requirements:
Relevant BA Degree in Counseling, Career Guidance or any relevant degree with at least two years postgraduate experience (American Curriculum Experience would be an advantage).
Must have Department of Community Development License

Develop and implement a comprehensive career guidance and counseling plan for students from grade 9 to 12. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external institutions to ensure students achieve academic goals and college readiness.
