Job Summary

A multispecialty hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is strengthening its Gastroenterology and Digestive Health services and is seeking a qualified Consultant / Specialist Gastroenterologist to join its multidisciplinary medical team. The role focuses on diagnosing and managing disorders of the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and biliary tract, within a modern healthcare environment equipped with advanced endoscopy and diagnostic facilities.
This position offers an opportunity to practice comprehensive gastroenterology in a collaborative setting alongside hepatologists, surgeons, radiologists, and nutrition specialists to deliver integrated care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Role Overview
• Position: Consultant / Specialist Gastroenterologist
• Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
• Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty hospital with advanced gastroenterology and endoscopy services
• Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification
• Practice Model: Combination of outpatient gastroenterology clinics, inpatient consultations, and endoscopic procedures
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, with a focus on endoscopic procedures, preventive screening, and long-term management of digestive disorders.
Key Responsibilities – Gastroenterology
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal disorders, including acid reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal infections
• Evaluate and treat liver-related conditions, including hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis
• Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy
• Manage gastrointestinal bleeding and complex digestive disorders requiring specialised medical evaluation
• Provide screening and preventive care for colorectal cancer and other gastrointestinal diseases
• Diagnose and manage pancreatic and biliary tract disorders
• Collaborate with general surgeons, hepatologists, oncologists, and radiologists for multidisciplinary patient management
• Develop individualised treatment plans and long-term disease management strategies for chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• Provide patient education regarding diet, lifestyle modification, and preventive digestive health care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and continuing professional development activities
• Ensure compliance with international gastroenterology guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations
Qualifications & Board Recognition

• DM / DNB / FCPS Gastroenterology or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
