Job Summary
Job Purpose
To ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and compliance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at site in line with KOC policies, requirements, and local regulations. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture and minimizing workplace risks in oil & gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE policies, procedures, and regulations (including client standards such as KOC requirements).
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate and participate in site surveys and safety assessments.
Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure safe work practices are followed.
Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and preparation of reports.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times.
Maintain HSE documentation, reports, and records in line with compliance requirements.
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and ensure readiness of equipment and personnel.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives on HSE matters.
Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across site operations.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as HSE personnel in a relevant field.
NEBOSH certification, along with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, including at least 7 years as HSE personnel in a relevant field.
Certifications
Must possess one or more recognized HSE certifications such as:
NEBOSH
ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
Industrial Safety / Construction Safety certifications
Environmental Management
Industrial Hygiene
ASSP Certificate / Global Safety Management or equivalent
Mandatory:
Valid First Aider Certification as per KOC.HSE.004 requirements
