Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented landfill construction quality assurance / resident engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This position will be responsible for overseeing the construction supervision and quality assurance of landfill site projects. This role will include overseeing daily construction activities at the landfill site, ensuring technical specification compliance, reviewing contractor submittals, monitoring project progress, and coordination between contractors, the consultant, and the client.
We envisage success in this role to include:
Supervising and overseeing daily construction works (full-time) at the construction site to ensure compliance with technical specification assurance requirements (with a primary focus on earthworks and geosynthetic installations).
Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring that all construction activities are conducted in accordance with project standards and local laws.
Coordinating with contractors and the client to resolve construction-related issues.
Preparing detailed reports on construction progress, technical specification compliance, and project performance.
Reviewing contractor submittals relating to construction methodologies, drawings, QA/QC submissions, material submittals, project progress payment certificates, etc.
Inspections, monitoring, and approval of construction works, while maintaining suitable daily records of works completed and inspected.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of experience in landfill construction supervision or related fields involving earthworks and geosynthetic liner installations, partnered with a bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
