Job Summary
Job Purpose
To lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of Corporate Credit
Policies and Programs while managing the end‑to‑end credit lifecycle across
assigned Corporate Banking portfolio(s). The role is responsible for
structuring complex credit facilities through direct engagement with Corporate
Banking clients and relationship teams within one designated sector or a
portfolio of multiple industry sectors, as assigned from time to time based on
business requirements and portfolio composition. The incumbent is expected to
possess the requisite cross‑sector credit expertise to independently assess and
manage credit exposures across single or multiple industries, ensuring strong
risk governance, effective portfolio oversight, and seamless stakeholder
management across Business, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Operations, and other
internal and external partners, in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and
regulatory expectations.
* Lead the end‑to‑end credit lifecycle for Corporate Banking portfolios across
assigned sector(s), including underwriting, approval, monitoring, and
remediation of credit exposures.
* Drive the development and implementation of corporate lending frameworks,
including formulation and maintenance of sector‑agnostic credit policies,
procedures, and underwriting standards applicable across single or multiple
industry verticals.
* Partner with Corporate Banking business teams to structure optimal credit
solutions for clients operating within the incumbents in line with the Bank’s
risk appetite.
* Provide credit advisory to Relationship Managers on transaction structuring
considering sector‑specific risk dynamics, financial profiles, collateral
structures, regulatory considerations, and prevailing market conditions.
* Evaluate and approve complex credit proposals including bilateral,
syndicated, structured, and project‑linked facilities across the designated
sector portfolio under coverage.
* Oversee portfolio‑level risks arising from sectoral concentrations and guide
appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
* Ensure effective stakeholder management across Business, Legal, Compliance,
Audit, Finance, and Operations for seamless implementation and monitoring of
credit facilities.
* Maintain and enhance Corporate Credit Policy Manuals and undertake credit due
diligence for new product or sector‑specific initiatives as applicable.
* Support Corporate Banking business growth by facilitating timely and
compliant setup of credit facilities
* Monitor portfolio quality and ensure adherence to approved credit terms,
internal risk policies, and regulatory expectations
* Accountable for overall credit risk oversight, sectoral exposure management,
and performance of the assigned Corporate Banking lending portfolio.

* Translate the Bank’s Risk and Corporate Banking strategy into a comprehensive
Corporate Credit framework aligned with portfolio growth objectives and
defined risk appetite across assigned sector(s).
* Drive the strategic direction of the corporate lending portfolio within the
incumbent’s designated industry vertical or combination of sectors
* Enable sustainable business growth by supporting structured and
sector‑appropriate credit solutions tailored to evolving client financing
needs across assigned corporate segments.
* Provide strategic oversight on sector‑specific credit exposures ensuring
alignment with portfolio diversification objectives and concentration limits.
* Lead and support Corporate Credit initiatives including portfolio monitoring
enhancements, sector risk frameworks, underwriting governance, and policy
digitization programs.
* Drive continuous improvement in underwriting standards, credit evaluation
methodologies, portfolio monitoring tools, and sector‑based risk assessment
frameworks.
Credit Policy & Governance
* Formulate, maintain, and seek approval for Corporate Credit Policies and
Programs to facilitate business growth while ensuring effective portfolio
risk management across assigned sector coverage.
* Actively collaborate with Corporate Banking Business teams in the
preparation, review, and modification of credit policies based on:
* Evolving sectoral dynamics
* Macroeconomic developments
* Portfolio performance trends
* Emerging industry‑specific risks
* Participate in internal focus groups for periodic review and enhancement of
credit policies, underwriting standards, and procedural frameworks.
* Ensure Corporate Credit Manuals and sector‑specific underwriting standards
are periodically reviewed and updated in line with regulatory developments
and internal portfolio performance indicators.
Portfolio Oversight & Risk Management
* Accountable for the overall quality, performance, and sustainability of the
Corporate Credit portfolio within the assigned sector or multi‑sector
coverage.
* Ensure maintenance of portfolio quality as measured by percentage of
classified outstandings and resultant loan loss provisions, thereby
minimizing adverse impact on Group profitability.
* Minimize migration of credit exposures across internal risk grades through
proactive portfolio surveillance and timely intervention.
* Implement and enhance early warning detection frameworks to proactively
identify emerging credit risks and ensure timely corrective action to
minimize potential loan losses.
* Ensure adherence to approved risk appetite across:
* Single obligor and group exposures
* Sector concentrations
* Country risk exposures
* Product‑level limits
* Ensure robust portfolio monitoring through:
* Periodic portfolio reviews
* Stress testing and scenario analysis
* Risk rating migration tracking
* Remedial action planning
Credit Underwriting Governance
* Provide oversight on underwriting standards and credit decisioning across all
corporate lending propositions within assigned sector(s).
* Evaluate and process credit proposals across bilateral, syndicated,
structured, and project‑related lending facilities.
* Ensure high quality of credit appraisals to minimize percentage of proposals
returned or rejected by Credit Committees.
* Maintain targeted turnaround time for credit processing in line with approved
service level agreements.
* Monitor volume of credit proposals processed to ensure adequate support to
business origination without compromising underwriting standards.
Business Engagement & Market Awareness
* Partner with Relationship Managers and Team Leaders to structure optimal
financing solutions aligned to sector‑specific client requirements.
* Accompany Marketing Managers / Relationship Teams on client calls, where
necessary, both domestic and international, to maintain awareness of
prevailing market conditions and sectoral developments.
* Provide credit advisory support on transaction structuring considering
financial profile, collateral adequacy, industry outlook, and regulatory
considerations.
Committee Participation & Governance
* Attend Credit Committee meetings as a regular member and provide
sector‑specific credit insights to facilitate informed credit decisions.
* Ensure proposals submitted for approval meet internal underwriting,
documentation, and governance standards.
* Contribute to discussions on sectoral portfolio performance, emerging risks,
and credit risk mitigation strategies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
* MBA, CA, CFA, FRM, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Finance,
Banking, or Risk Management preferred.
* Minimum 15-20 years of relevant banking experience with significant exposure
to Corporate Credit Risk Management across diversified industry sectors with
at least 5-7 years of managerial experience is preferred.
* Expert knowledge of Corporate Banking lending products including bilateral,
syndicated, structured, and project finance facilities.
* Strong understanding of sector‑specific credit risk dynamics, financial
analysis, and industry‑level business models across single or multiple
assigned sectors.
* Sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks, credit risk governance standards,
and legal enforceability considerations impacting corporate lending
transactions.
* In‑depth expertise in collateral evaluation, security perfection, and
associated legal frameworks across various asset classes.
* Strong credit structuring skills with demonstrated ability to exercise sound
judgment in evaluating complex and bespoke corporate financing solutions.
* Excellent analytical capabilities encompassing qualitative, quantitative, and
strategic assessment of credit proposals and portfolio risk trends.
* Ability to work independently while managing multiple sector portfolios and
competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for effective
engagement with senior stakeholders and Credit Committees.
* High proficiency in problem‑solving and credit decision‑making within
delegated authority framework.
* Demonstrated leadership capability to mentor underwriting teams and foster a
